Mangalore, Sep 22: The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold a protest against the neglect of roads by blocking the National Highway 17 on Saturday Sep 23.

Calling it as the apathy of Union Government to respond to poor condition of National Highways 17 and 48, Suratkal assembly constituency committee of BJP has made this announcement.

Speaking to presspersons Ganesh Hosabettu, president of the committee said that although several peaceful protest rallies were organized no tangible action has been taken place. This has led them to resort to intense agitation.

On Saturday, the party workers will block NH 17 at Kulur and Suratkal between 9 am and 5 pm, Hosabettu informed.
