Two killed in robbers' attack in Telangana


Hyderabad, Sep 12 (IANS): Two people were killed and two were injured in an attack by robbers on three houses in Telangana's Warangal district in the early hours of Friday, police said.

A group of seven burglars broke into the houses in Raghunathpalli, a small town in the district. When the residents resisted them, they attacked them with sharp-edged weapons.

A 55-year-old woman B. Lakshmi and a nine-year-old girl Nandini were killed in the attack. A five-year-old boy and 80-year-old woman were critically injured. The injured were being shifted to Hyderabad for treatment.

Police said the robbers escaped with Rs.50,000 cash and jewellery from the houses.
