Mangalore, Sep 20: Responding to the comments made by state minister for higher education D H Shankaramurthy on Tipu Sultan, Youth Congress district president Bondala Jagannath Shetty has demanded the minister's resignation.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday September 19, he said that the minister's remarks are a mark of disrespect to the freedom fighters.

The minister had earlier stated that Tipu Sultan did not deserve a place in the history of Karnataka.

On the issue of statements by Union minister for state for road transport and highways K H Muniappa that the city did not have any more potholes and the highways have been repaired, Shetty clarified that the minister had been misquoted and had said the repair works will begin after the rainy season.
