Mangalore, Sep 15: The Teachers' Day was observed under the auspices of Pompei English school in the Megha Plaza at Kaikamba recently.
Syndicate Bank manager H R SUdhakar presided over the function. Students, parents and teachers of all schools took part in the event.
School pupil leaders welcomed the gathering. Correspondent J B Sequeira explained the significance of the observance of the day.
Mahesh Shetty spoke on behalf of the teachers. Mementoes were presented to all teachers.
Sudhakar, who presided over, highlighted the importance of a teacher's role in moulding the character and future of a person. Entertainment programme was presented by the students.
An important feature of the programme was that it was entirely managed by only students.
