BJP legislator shot at in Delhi, unhurt

New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS): A Delhi BJP MLA was called out of his home and thrice shot at Wednesday. The bullets whizzed past him and he escaped unhurt, the police said.

Jitender Singh Shunty was shot at three times here, police said.

The incident took place outside Shunty's home in Shahdara in east Delhi around 6 a.m. Shunty was elected to the Delhi assembly from the Shahdara assembly segment.

Police sources said an unidentified man on a motorcycle and wearing a helmet called out Shunty, asking him to attest some documents.

As Shunty looked at the papers, one of the papers fell on the ground. Suddenly, the assailant whipped out a pistol.

Shunty grappled with the armed assailant and pushed him away. He then tried to run towards his home.

It was then that the three shots were fired, following which the assailant fled from the spot.

The entire dramatic incident was caught on CCTV.

After Modi taking oath, there is no law and order across the country. Anybody can do anything. If any crimes happened in Karnataka, BJP supporters are blaming Congress govt, if in UP they are blaming Akhilesh govt. Now whom they will blame. Modi is in honeymoon and he is least bother about India's citizen.

    Perinje sir,
Many a time it happens for getting mileage out of such incidents (arranged purposely).
Or they were newly recruited killers trying to practice.

However, I put it to their (MLAs) private activities as these type of incidents increasing day by day and some do not live to see the day.
Shall we say he was lucky....!! Wise if he has learnt his lesson....

prem, moodbidri why are you blaming modi for that. It can be the foul play of your secular party khangress. Khangress has become powerless and they will do anything for getting power.

Earlier the above and some other people asking this question "Why you are blaming Modi" were blindly blaming MMS for any incident anywhere in India.
This has some relevance as it happened in the neighbourhood of our present PM.
Good work should be carried on right?
