DDA's restructuring plan to be finalised in two weeks

New Delhi, Sep 2 (IANS): The restructuring plan of the capital's land development body DDA, including computerisation of all of its departments, will be submitted to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung in two weeks, said an official.

"The plan will be finalised in two weeks and submitted to the lt governor," the official said.

The plan, being prepared by the National Productivity Council in consultation with Delhi Development Authority, aims to make the capital's land development agency more transparent and accountable.

Jung took stock of the progress of the plan at a meeting with officials in which suggestions were made to improve the current processes within DDA, the official added.

The plan also envisages turning two DDA buildings into model offices.

Proposal for monitoring engineering works and maintenance of parks through geographic information system was put forward in the meeting.

A suggestion for an interactive website for DDA was also made at the meeting. The aim is to provide online services to citizens, such as payment, and tracking of complaints.
