Man held with 1.8 kg gold at IGI airport

New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS): The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Saturday arrested a passenger for illegally carrying 1.8 kg of gold at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here, an official said.

Nadim Ali, in his 40s and a resident of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested after the gold was recovered from him Saturday morning, the official said.

"Nadim arrived at IGI from a Kuwait flight. He was seen entering a washroom located near the international arrival de-boarding gate-15 of terminal-3. Suspecting his activities, the washroom was checked from where a wallet was recovered," said a CISF official.

"Nadim later came back and accepted that it was his wallet. It had 16 pieces of gold biscuits weighing approximately 1.8 kg. The customs officials were soon informed who took the passenger in their custody," said the official.
