Advertise your work to people, BJP councillors told

New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS): All the BJP councillors in the national capital have been asked to advertise the work done in their respective areas, a party statement said Friday.

Delhi unit president Satish Upadhyay has notified all the elected representatives that it is their "responsibility" to "apprise the people about the achievements of the corporations and the central government".

"Our image should be such that the party may get benefit in the form of its expansion and development," he said in the meeting with the 138 councillors and mayors of all the three municipal corporations under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Acknowledged as the "most important link between the party and the people of Delhi", the councillors were asked to complete the renovation of toilets in all schools under the corporations by Sep 25 and start the beautification process of four parks in each of the wards by next month.

Upadhyay further asked the councillors to "create pressure on the corporation officers" so that red tapism does not hinder public welfare projects and decisions are taken in a time-bound manner.
