Heavy rain in Delhi, adjoining areas


New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): Delhi and its adjoining areas were lashed by heavy rain Thursday. The Met Office has forecast more rain during the day.

The morning was warm and sultry. But by the afternoon, the sky became cloudy and there was rainfall in the capital and its adjoining areas, including Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

"Rain was expected Thursday. More rainfall is likely in the day," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature Thursday morning was 28.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 38 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m was 77 percent.

Wednesday's maximum temperature settled five notches above the season's average at 38.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 27.5 degrees, a notch above the season's average.
