France announces new cabinet


Paris, Aug 27 (IANS): France's Secretary-General of the Elysee Palace, Jean-Pierre Jouyet, unveiled Tuesday new government headed by Prime Minister Manuel Valls, a day after the resignation of the former government.

The list included 16 ministers, of which 8 were female, with Emmanuel Macron appointed as economy minister to replace Arnaud Montebourg.

Emmanuel Macron,36, former deputy general secretary of the presidency and a close ally of the French President Francois Hollande, is tasked to promote ailing growth and weak industry of the country.
