Strong quake hits northern California


Washington, Aug 24 (IANS): An earthquake of 6.0 magnitude rocked northern California in the US Sunday.

The epicentre of the quake, which occurred about 3.20 a.m. (1020 GMT), was located 6 km northwest of American Canyon, a small town about 64 km north of San Francisco, Xinhua reported citing the US Geological Survey.

There were no immediate reports of causality or damage.
