Three wanted Maoists arrested in Patna


Patna, Aug 23 (IANS): Three wanted Maoists were arrested here Saturday, police said.

Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said the three arrested Maoists were wanted by police in Jharkhand and Chattishgarh also.

He said police have recovered two dozen detonators from their possession.

"Arrested Maoists were involved in several cases in Bihar and two other states," police official said.

Shambhuji, one of the three Maoists, is a member of Special area committee of the banned CPI-Maoists.

He was involved in massacre of 16 members of TPC Third resentation Committee) in Jharkhand August 8 this year, police said.

He is wanted in several cases of loot, murder and extortion in three states.
