Sack inefficient officers, Delhi BJP urges Rajnath

New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS): A delegation of the Delhi BJP Saturday met home minister Rajnath Singh to complain against "inefficient officers" in the Delhi government and the Delhi Police. As per a party statement, Singh has assured timely action.

Led by Delhi party chief Satish Upadhyay, the delegation informed the minister about the "rigid" and "negative" attitude of officers working in departments like food and civil supplies, health, education, social service, transport etc.

"These officers are dealing with the people but have an indifferent attitude towards their problems. Due to this, people are facing great difficulties in getting basic government benefits like ration cards, social pension, hospital services etc," Upadhyay said.

"The reason behind all these problems is the rigid and negative attitude and the inefficiency of the officers of these departments," he added.

Upadhyay said that the home minister assured action against the erring officers.

"He (Singh) has assured us that he would meet Lt. Governor of Delhi (Najeeb Jung), senior officers in the Delhi government as well as Delhi Police Commissioner (B.S. Bassi) regarding our complaints and action will be taken against the officers," he said.
