Human development should get precedence: Pakistani women's group

New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS): The concerns of human development should take precedence over old issues like Kashmir, and women should be part of the peace process between India and Pakistan, members of a Pakistani women's delegation said here Saturday.

The delegation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province led by Mossarat Qadeem, advisor to the governor and executive director of the Paiman Trust, Saturday met Harbeen Arora, global chairperson of women's industry chamber Assocham Ladies League, with a message to continue building understanding between the two countries.

Both sides said women should be part of all peace processes between India and Pakistan, as they are the most vulnerable and affected by the continuous tension across the border.

Members of both sides agreed that at present the common man wants his well-being and development above anything else.
