Arms, ammunition recovered in Kashmir


Srinagar, Aug 21 (IANS): A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from a car in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, police said Thursday.

"Around 3 a.m. today (Thursday), security forces, including Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police and the Indian Army's 5 Para batallion, recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from a Maruti car in Bandipora," a senior police officer told IANS here.

"The recovery was made during a routine check up and includes seven AK-47 rifles, 15 AK magazines, 316 AK rounds, five Chinese pistols, 13 Chinese pistol rounds, 12 Chinese grenades, an under-barrel rocket launcher (UBRL) and 74 UBGL shells," police said.
