Kanye West plans $5 mn church for wife Kim?

Los Angeles, Aug 17 (IANS): Rapper Kanye West can go to any extent to pamper his wife Kim Kardashian - even if that means to build a $5 million private cathedral for the reality TV star.

The "No church in the wild" hitmaker, who married 33-year-old Kim in Italy in May, has plans to make this exclusive church, where the Kardashian family can have private weddings, funerals and baptisms, reports contactmusic.com.

"They want somewhere that weddings and baptisms and family funerals can take place for years to come. But Kanye being Kanye, it's going to be ludicrously over the top," a source told the National Enquirer.

The rapper is said to be a fan of the famous unfinished cathedral La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, which has been under construction since 1882.

"Kanye has visited the church several times, and it takes his breath away every time. He's always wanted something similar for his own family. He sees it as a monument to him and Kim that will become a major landmark," said the insider.

He has huge plans for it.

"He says everyone will want to see it, like the Hollywood sign or the Empire State Building. He wants this church to include a chapel as a tribute to his mom, along with a stained glass window featuring him, Kim, and their daughter, North.

"He's already set aside $5 million to get the work started and plans on doing a series of shows to help fund the construction. He's also considering starting an online appeal so that fans can donate to the building fund. Kim and her mom, Kris, are thrilled that Kanye is doing this for the family," the source added.
