Airlines attract flyers with promotional schemes this I-Day

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS): Airlines are offering promotional schemes to attract flyers on the occasion of Independence Day Friday.

National carrier Air India Thursday said that it is offering passengers a "Get Lucky" scheme under which every 100th ticket booked will entail a complimentary ticket.

"The complimentary ticket will be valid on direct flights only for six months from the date of issuance of the ticket. Winners will be notified on Monday," the airline said adding that the promotional scheme is valid from Aug 15 to Sept 30, 2014.

Jet Airways and its Abu Dhabi-based partner Etihad Airways also launched new fares schemes for all domestic and international destinations on their combined network on the occasion of Independence Day.

This special promotion offers passengers discounts ranging from 20 to 68 per cent across both airlines’ networks across 135 destinations worldwide.

The five-day special offer will be available for sale from Aug 15 to 19 for travel between Sept 15 to June 30 2015.
