Fire scare on Jet Airways' Delhi-Bhopal flight

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS): A Jet Airways flight between Delhi and Bhopal, ferrying over 70 passengers, had to abort its take-off from here early Thursday morning following a fire alarm, an official said.

The turbo prop ATR 72 aircraft abandoned take-off after the pilots saw the alarm blinking on the cockpit flight panel.

According to the airline, flight 9W2654 from Delhi to Bhopal had a precautionary rejected take-off at Delhi due to engine fire warning.

"The ATR aircraft has since been grounded at Delhi for inspection by the Jet Airways engineering staff. All the guests were deplaned safely and taken back to the terminal building without any event," the airline said in a statement.

"The aircraft has since been changed and the passengers duly departed for their destination."
