'Ordnance factories achieved less during 2012-14'

New Delhi, Aug 8 (IANS): India's ordnance factories achieved less in 2012-13 and 2013-14 but met the targets for 2011-12, the Lok Sabha was informed Friday.

This was due to “delay in receipt of raw/material/components, non-receipt of bulkproduction clearance for certain developmental items from the user and constraints of the police forces under the ministry of home affairs”, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said in a written reply.

The Ordnance Factory Board “is making all efforts to meet the target for the current year”, he added.

The Vehicle Factory Jabalpur achieved percentage value of issue of 96 percent, 99 percent and 92.61 percent of the target for 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, he added.
