Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh’s dream of directing Amitabh Bachchan is about to realize.

And quite an out of the ordinary film it would be.

We have seen Bachchan play myriad roles in his acting career. But perhaps for the first time he will play a character on the lines of the djinn from the Aladdin tales from Arabian Nights in Ghosh’s next film.

Ghosh has revealed that the film would be a children’s fantasy movie with high quality special effects and state-of-the-art technique of storytelling.

The director is looking forward to rope in some of the world’s best technicians and special effects experts for the film.

The movie will have the Big B in the central role. The remaining star-cast is yet to be finalized.

The work on the movie’s script is said to be almost complete and the shooting is expected to begin next year.

The Sippys (Ramesh Sippy and Rohan Sippy) are producing the film. The producers gave a nod to Ghosh’s project despite the fact that his last movie Home Delivery was a dud at the box-office.

About two years ago, Ghosh had planned to make a realistic thriller with Bachchan in the lead role. That movie could not materialize. But now Ghosh’s dream of working with the superstar comes true in this children’s fantasy flick.

It is said that this film will herald a new genre for Indian cinema.
