Finish Delhi projects on time: Jung

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS): Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Wednesday directed senior Delhi government officials to complete all projects, announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Delhi budget, on time.

In a meeting with principal secretaries and secretaries of health and family welfare, education, social welfare, women and child development departments, Jung reviewed the progress of various schemes and projects.

"The lt. governor has directed the officials that the projects and schemes announced in the budget must be implemented in a time-bound manner and a detailed implementation plan for each should be prepared," a statement from Jung's office said.

He asked the health secretary to ensure that the required infrastructure is in place and the faculty is recruited on time to ensure that Rohini's new medical college starts student-admission from the next academic session.

While reviewing education department projects, Jung emphasised on providing functional and clean toilets in all schools with special focus on taking care of needs of girl students.

He directed the setting up senior secondary schools for girls in all assembly constituencies and teaching of Urdu, Punjabi and Sanskrit.

The statement said that besides asking the secretaries to regularly monitor the progress, Jung will himself review them every month.
