39 IAS, 15 others accused of corruption


New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS): Sanctions have been given to prosecute 39 IAS, eight IFS and seven IPS officers for corruption in the last three years, parliament was informed Wednesday.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh provided the statistics in a written answer in the Lok Sabha.

He said involvement in corruption was a "serious misconduct" and penalties under the Prevention of Corruption Act include dismissal from service.
