Chicago, August 20: Past District Governor  from Mother District of Lionism - District 1-A of Chicagoland, Dr. Austin Prabhu has been selected to lead MERLOW (Membership, Extension, Retention, Leadership, Orientation and Women's Initiative) team leaders from State of Illinois by current council of governors for the year 2006-07.  There are 12 districts in State of Illinois and every district has 6 leaders for MERLOW team.  In a press conference Austin told these leaders that the mission for the team will be - to develop leaders and educate State Chairpersons with an open exchange of ideas, encourage communication and team work to support the goals of Lions Clubs International and Multiple District 1 in State of Illinois and show positive growth.
 
Currently Austin is one of the 185 Sector Coordinators all over the world for Sight First II Campaign whose goal is to collect 2 million dollars worldwide.  He is also a Leadership Chairman for District 1-A, 2007 International Convention Publicity and Public Relations Chairman - which will be held in Chicago and President of The Forest Kala Sampath Lions Club and Past District Governors Association of District 1-A.  Austin is wearing several hats this year for the growth of lionism who is also promoted this month at work after receiving certificate in 'Six Sigma Green Belt' from Northern Illinois University, Naperville.
