Excise duty on food processing and packaging industry cut: Jaitley


New Delhi, July 10 (IANS): The government has proposed reducing excise duty on specified food processing and packaging machinery from 10 percent to 6 percent, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said here Thursday.

“To incentivize expansion of processing capacity, excise duty on specified food processing and packaging machinery has been reduced from 10 percent to 6 percent,” he said presenting his maiden Budget in the Lok Sabha.
