Half of US can't live a day without smartphones

Washington, July 2 (IANS): If your kid cannot get away from smartphone even while having dinner or watching TV, he/she is not the only one. According to a new survey by Bank of America, nearly 50 percent of mobile phone users in the US cannot last a day without smartphone.

Many of the participants considered their devices to be more important than coffee and television.

Some users said they would rather give up alcohol or chocolate than their phones, according to a report in TG Daily.

The survey also found smartphones were more important to their users than toothbrushes or deodorants.

The survey was conducted by Braun Research and is based on telephone surveys of 1,000 smartphone users with Bank of America accounts.

Nearly 76 percent of participants found their smartphones to be more important than television while 60 percent of them found their mobile devices to be more important than coffee.
