Cabinet passes resolution condoling Munde's death

New Delhi, June 3 (IANS): The union cabinet Tuesday met and passed a resolution condoling the death of union minister Gopinath Munde, who died in a car accident here in the morning.

Munde would be cremated in his native place in Maharastra Wednesday "with full state honours", said union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu.

The cabinet also resolved to observe national mourning Tuesday, he added.

Munde, 64, an important figure in Maharashtra politics, was going to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in his Maruti Suzuki SX4 car when it was hit by a Tata Indica car at Aurobindo chowk at about 6.20 a.m.

An injured Munde was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre nearby where he apparently died following cardiac arrest.
