Rosaiah, Jayalalithaa condole Munde's death


Chennai, June 3 (IANS): Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah and Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Tuesday condoled the death of Union Minister Gopinath Munde following a car accident in Delhi.

In a statement issued here, Rosaiah said Munde was an able administrator, a parliamentarian and a legislator par excellence.

"His death is an irreparable loss to the nation and to the people of Maharashtra in particular. I convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved family members and pray to God to rest his soul in peace," Rosaiah said.

Paying her condolences, Jayalalithaa said Munde's passing away is an irreparable loss to the people of Maharashtra and the cadres of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"In his passing away, the people of India, especially the people of Maharashtra, have lost a great parliamentarian, a great humanist, a true patriot and a person who untiringly served society," Jayalalithaa said.

MDMK leader Vaiko and PMK leader S. Ramadoss also condoled Munde's death.
