Myth on Modi victory will explode soon: Yechury

New Delhi, May 17 (PTI) : The “myths” catapulting Narendra Modi to power are bound to explode sooner than later, CPI (M) on Saturday said and claimed that the time to pay back to those who financed this election campaign is approaching which will further burden people.

Claiming “unprecedented” use of money power in the just-concluded elections, senior party leader Sitaram Yechury said “the myths leading up to the BJP victory are bound to explode sooner than later. This throws up the challenges for the future.

“We are on the morrow of the pay-back time to those who financed this election campaign. This can only mean further impositions of burdens on the people, forget providing them any relief.”

In an editorial in the CPI (M) organ People’s Democracy, he said “the subterranean campaign of Hindutva undercurrent will only sharpen communal polarisation threatening our secular democratic foundations.”

“How effectively both these challenges (of economic burden and communalism) are met, will define the contours of the future for our people and the country,” he said.

The BJP, he said, mounted “an effective campaign backed by an unprecedented display of money power and the building up of a media hype.”

The successful projection of its prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, was forged through a combination of Hindutva agenda and the promises of ‘development’ and ‘good governance’, with Gujarat being depicted as “the El dorado, a land of flowing milk and honey ... an earthly paradise, a Shangri-la of sorts.”

BJP’s campaign managers “brilliantly mobilised Indians around the belief in a piece of land and a deity, that is Gujarat and its presiding deity Modi — not unlike Ayodhya and Ram” and mounting “a spectacular and untiring mythology of Modi,” he said.

On the other hand, the Congress campaign was “utterly ineffective and unable to take on this challenge of myth building”, with its leadership even failing to enthuse its own cadre, he said.

The editorial came a day ahead of a meeting of the CPI (M) Polit Bureau which would analyse and assess the poll outcome and chalk out the future course of action. The party’s Central Committee would meet in the first week of June.

My 2 cents people. Say for eg UP, The previous time when Muslims and Yadavs voted en-masses bringing SP to power, media called it ' Consolidation ' and never polarization. This time when the Hindu community mostly voted BJP cutting aside the caste divide' secular media dubs it "reverse Polarization". I think its time people moved on from the caste/religion based politics. Congress took Hindu community for granted, knowing that minority communities would vote for it as it is, so would the Hindus.Thankfully not this time. Having said that, I still concede that a huge chunk of Muslims and Christians have voted for Modi this time around. BJP knows that the mandate given was for Development alone and not for moral policing and other issues. Hope they stick to their development agenda and not squander a golden opportunity to build a nation that we dreamed of. Our grandfather's and father's generation of politicians failed us and the country. I just hope our generation doesn't give up on hope. JAI HIND!

Myth on Modi victory will explode soon: Yechury you do not know Modi. He will get all black money in Swiss bank that was deposited by Indians and there will not be a price rise no inflation for next 15 years, price of gas will come down so also petrol and feku will prove he is not feku but congis and jossey saldhana are fekus and not the least the Sahib will rule next 30 years happily ever after.

Those who are day dreaming that any country's government, let alone India can get back any money from Swiss bank account holders is quite extreme myth.
Switzerland is a country founded on the fundamentals of banking secrecy and security. That is why swindled money goes there without questions asked.

Just think of a day the fundamentals Swiss bank secrecy are over, that is the day Switzerland will not exist.
Till then all can day dream and build castles in the air. Live in Futile Hope and finally Die in Despair
    All will

what fundamentals of secrecy? This is the 21st century. Switzerland is finding itself at odds at this principle of medieval concept of hiding money. In the modern electronic world there is no place for such hiding unless u are a law evader. Sooner or later Switzerland will have to completely abandon this cloak.

We hindus dont need any appeasement by any party, even from BJP. We want each and every Indian who loves India must be treated equally. Okay. Why argue over spilt milk. Congress\UPA have been decimated.
BJP has done so well, it can form Government on it's own.
This has happened after so many years of coalitions, hand tied, Governments at the Center.
Now there should not be any complaining that coalition is hindering decision making.
BJP can now show that they are people friendly, caste creed, religion no barrier. That they are development friendly which will give jobs to lac and lacs. By doing everything that will create confidence amongst all Indian, BJP can win the hearts and Govern India as many years as Congress did.
Hope it will happen and not something that will create animosity\tension amongst the people towards the Government.

I wish BJP for winning handsomely and also wish them God's blessings to lead the nation towards prosperity & peace.

Do they have any morale right?..MODI politically haunted for many many years..the riot of Gujrat so exaggerated to make people believe that such riots not happened in any other state..propaganda of Congress & co to curtail political ambitions of MODI has created anger/hatred in section of people which created many terror groups resulting in bomb attacks & physical attacks..i think Congress & co for their vote bank did much damage to social fabric of our country than BJP..

However If the BJP succeeds in achieving & delivering at least 20% of their promises with in 6 months they can stop explosion... otherwise....?

It is very easy for modi to kickstart his campaign of improving the indian economy. Simply bring back the black money stashed abroad. But having said this, it remains to be seen, how much black money is he going to bring back? Is he going to ively go only after congress politicians/Sharad pawar black monies, or will he go even after gujarthi business black money stashed abroad? Most established business houses have black money abroad, so will he go after his own party funders remains to be seen...

Further, many people fail to realize there is more black money floating in the indian system, than black money stashed abroad. how will he account for all the black money within the indian economy remains to be seen. For example. When we buy items from the local retailer, we prefer to pay cash and not get official bill, because then we have to pay sales tax. So also with buying properties in india wherein, most of the time we have to pay 60% white and 40% black.

So i get tickled and amused when blind supporters of bjp say modi is going to eradicate corruption in india. How can he do so, when he did not even consider having lokayukta in his own state government when he was CM?

Now with the massive black money funding for his campaign along with media hype, has he bitten off more than he can chew? Can he deliver on all the expectations that he has promised to the public (including bring back dawood ibrahim from karachi) remains to be seen. Truly interesting days are ahead for for a human God like modi to deliver on his promises...

    Truly interesting days are ahead!

India needed a heavy hand and Indian people have found one. Narendra Modi. Its not Modi's myth but the filth of political parties that is to me cleaned. India needed a heavy handed leader in a democracy like ours, a overly democratic country . Do whatever you want do however you want approach.
Look at the filth in great cities of ours. Look at sanitation everywhere. People defacating every where. No clean toilets no hygiene.
India want to be a super power, a permanent member of United nations but India does not have proper housing for the people.
People sleep in shanties, streets, footpaths and slums. what india needs a new approach to governance.
Modi has a vision, a passion, and a great desire. Many will call him communal, others call a dictator. But as a leader of a nation he cannot be. Indian people will throw out such people when the time comes.
What now? Lets see how Modi delivers. Watch his moves, his governance, his approach to politics and appointing politicians. How he looks after people of different sections, communal and religious.
My gut instincts tells me he will be careful but at the same time will be tough wherever needed unlike Mr. Manmohan singh.

This is reality. Wait and see how 2015 is going to be. It will definitely be payback time with interest compounded.

I just wonder BJP has invented invisible counterfeit machines. Yes, since 3 years chanting slogan of corruption and not letting the parliament to function most of the time has turn to the buzzword of development. Let us see how long the wolves can wear the sheep’s skin?

Myth of communism is already exploded and they are no where.
What amazes me is these guys instead of strengthening their braking house, they are more bothered about predicting others collapse!!!

Well said Yechury saab. But India is so impatient for progress and growth, and at this point it appears that Modiji is the right person to lead. Congress did not deliver for so many years. Regional parties caters only for their region. Nation has given a chance to Modi, hope he can deliver. Modi did the right thing by sidelining Advani. Given his background its possible that he will move India to higher level. lets wait and see.
