14 of marriage party killed in Jharkhand accident


Ranchi, May 17 (IANS): At least 14 members of a marriage party were killed and more than 15 injured in a bus accident in Jharkhand's Godda district Saturday, police said.

According to police, the bus carrying more than 40 people overturned near the Badhona village of the district, about 500 km from here. Six people died on the spot and eight succumbed while undergoing treatment.

The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in the district, where seven of them were reported to be in serious condition. 

The bus with the marriage party was returning from Barwadih when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned before falling into a roadside ditch.
