Terrorists are from a particular community: Giriraj

Patna, May 14 (IANS): BJP leader Giriraj Singh again courted controversy Wednesday by saying those arrested for terrorist activities are from a "particular community".

"Is it not true that all those who are arrested for terror activities are from one particular community," Giriraj Singh asked while speaking to reporters here.

He, however, clarified that he did not mean everyone from a community was a terrorist.

Giriraj Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Nawda Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, had recently sparked a row by saying that those opposed to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan.

After police complaints were filed against him in Bihar and Jharkhand, he surrendered in a Patna court in the first week of May and was granted bail. The Election Commission had also banned Giriraj Singh from campaigning in Bihar and Jharkhand for the Lok Sabha polls.
