13 killed in two separate attacks in Pakistan

Islamabad, April 11 (IANS): At least 13 people were killed and two injured Friday in two separate bomb blasts in Pakistan's North Waziristan region.

In the first attack, a roadside blast hit a vehicle in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, killing three people and injuring two others, Xinhua reported.

The bomb was activated with a remote controlled device.

In the other incident, some unidentified people fired a rocket at a vehicle in the Shawal area that killed six people on spot and left four injured. They died during treatment in a hospital.

It is feared that the attacks might be the result of the ongoing infighting between two factions of the banned militant organisation Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) that started last Monday.

The clashes started in the Shaktoi area of South Waziristan between TTP groups led by Khan Said alias Sajna and Waliur Rehman.

The militants from the two sides have been attacking each other with heavy ammunition and artillery in the tribal regions of North Waziristan and South Waziristan bordering Afghanistan.
