Panaji, Jun 1: As a preparedness measure to tackle any kind of unforeseen  emergency occurring during the monsoons the government has set up following emergency control rooms for the general public to report any incident or calamity that may arise  due to heavy rainfall so as to enable the government machinery to respond promptly.

These control rooms will be operational round the clock  and would function in addition to the police, fire services and Coast Guard control rooms which can be contacted on the following numbers: Police -100. Fire-101 and  Coast Guard - 155211.

The emergency control rooms are: North Goa Collector, Panaji telephone number 2225083,  South Goa collectorm, Margao 2714898, Secretariat control room , Porvorim telephone  2415583, 2419499, mobile 981158252 and fax number 2419767. Fax facility in South Goa is available under telephone numbers 2426148 during office hours. Also urgent faxes may be sent to the collector on telephone number 2426492.

The taluka control room and phone and fax numbers are; Bardez- 2262210, fax 2262233, Bicholim-2362237, fax-2363886, Pernem-2201223, 2201411, fax-2201223, Sattari-2374243,  2374090, fax - 2374243, Ponda-2312121, 2312136 and fax-2319519.

Besides this  all other  required pre-monsoon arrangements  to tackle any calamity have been made with the assistance of different department heads and subdivisional officers.
