Four killed in car bomb explosions in Baghdad


Baghdad, March 5 (IANS): At least four people were killed and 29 injured in car bomb explosions in Iraq's capital Baghdad Wednesday.

A car bomb went off in Camp Sarah district, near the University of Technology in east Baghdad, killing one person and injuring nine, a police source told Xinhua.

At the same time, another car bomb ripped through a busy intersection in the same district, killing one person and injuring three.

Simultaneous car bomb explosions also took place in Shaab district where two people were killed and eight injured and in the district of Zaafaraniyah, leaving nine injured.

The toll could rise as ambulances, police and civilian vehicles evacuated the injured to different hospitals and medical centres in the city.
