Court to hear Abu Jundal's case Mar 24

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS): A court here Friday fixed March 24 for hearing arguments on charges against Abu Jundal, an alleged key plotter of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack who has been chargesheeted for terror activities in India.

District Judge I.S. Mehta said the court will commence arguments on framing charges from March 24.

The court order came after National Investigation Agency (NIA) supplied the deficient copies of the documents filed with chargesheet to Jundal's counsel, M.S. Khan.

The investigating agency had chargesheeted Jundal under the various offences punishable under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

According to the NIA, Jundal along with his absconding associate Fayyaz Kagzi in November 2005 met Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Abdul Aziz in Nepal and received a training of bomb making.

Jundal had earlier claimed before the court that the NIA and Maharashtra Police had forced him to sign some documents and blank papers.

Abu Jundal is in a judicial custody at Arthur road jail in Mumbai in connection with an alleged conspiracy to launch terror strikes in the country.
