Delhi man hangs himself after killing wife, daughters

New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS): A man committed suicide after killing his wife and two daughters here following a fight with his spouse over a family issue, police said. The bodies were found Monday morning.

Ravinder Kanojia (34), who owned a dry-cleaning shop, was found hanging from the grill of a door on the first floor.

His wife, Chanda, and daughters Nandini, 9, and Yashika, 7, were lying on a bed in a pool of blood on the ground floor of an under-construction house in Dwarka, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Goyal told IANS that Ravinder's elder brother Kishore spotted the bodies around 8 a.m. when he came to take the girls to school.

Goyal said no suicide note was found.

"They belong to Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district and were residing here for the past several years. Their parents have been informed," Goyal said.

Another police officer said Ravinder had a fight with Chanda over an issue Sunday night.

An iron rod was also found on the ground floor. It seemed that Ravinder, after beating his wife and daughters with the rod, hanged himself with the help of a rope, said the officer.

Police said the family had taken a rented accommodation close to their house as the latter was under construction.
