Egypt's cabinet set to resign

Cairo, Feb 24 (IANS): Egypt's interim government presided over by Hazem Beblawi will resign after the cabinet meeting Monday, media reported.

Ibrahim Mahlab, minister of housing in Beblawi's government, will likely lead the new cabinet, Xinhua reporting citing state-run Nile TV.

During a press conference, Beblawi said his ministers did their best to tackle issues of security and economy, but making mistakes was unavoidable.

"Any government without the support of society could do nothing," he said.
