12 foreign women, two men held in Pakistan


Islamabad, Feb 20 (IANS): Pakistan's FIA personnel Thursday arrested 14 foreigners, 12 of them women, for staying illegally in the country, in an operation launched to arrest two women who fled an airport here without passing immigration counter.

The Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) launched a crackdown in four different locations of the capital in order to arrest the two Uzbek women who fled the Islamabad airport without passing the immigration counter, reported Dawn online.

At least 12 foreign women and two men were detained.

The detained women hailed from central Asia and were involved in immoral activities, said Deputy Director of FIA Nasrullah Gondal.

The visas of some women had expired and they were staying illegally in the country. They would be exiled after legal action, said sources.
