Top Pakistan army officials meet Saudi prince


Islamabad, Feb 17 (IANS): Pakistan's Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. Rashad Mahmood and army chief Gen. Raheel Sharif Monday held meetings with Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz and discussed defence cooperation.

The army chief and the Saudi prince discussed the security situation in the region, reported Dawn online.

Gen. Mahmood and Aziz agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation and to share counter-terrorism intelligence.

A memorandum of understanding between the two countries will be signed in the field of security cooperation.

The Saudi prince is on a three-day visit to Pakistan on the first leg of his four-nation Asia tour. He is also scheduled to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
