Aircraft with 14 on board missing in Nepal: Police



KATHMANDU, Feb 16 (PTI) A Nepal Airlines small plane carrying 18 people, including a foreigner, went missing today while on its way from a popular tourist resort to a town in western Nepal, police said.

The Twin Otter took off from Pokhara airport at 12:40 pm and disappeared 35 minutes later.
Ram Hari Sharma, Spokesperson at the Nepal Airlines Corporation, confirmed that they have not been able to locate the plane.

According to Sharma, the missing Twin Otter was carrying 18 people, including a child and a Danish national, pilot and two flight attendants. Identities of other passengers, however, is yet to be known, The Himalayan Times reported.

Search operations are underway, Sharma said, adding that a helicopter has been deployed to locate the aircraft.
