28 militants killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, Feb 16 (IANS): At least 28 Taliban militants were killed in Afghanistan, the interior ministry said Sunday.

Also, seven militants were injured and seven others arrested in the joint operations of the Afghan National Police, National Directorate for Security and army, Xinhua reported citing the ministry.

The operations were carried out in Kunar, Zabul, Logar and Helmand provinces, it said, adding that the security forces also confiscated arms and improvised explosive devices.
