No point staying in power after Jan Lokpal setback: Bhushan

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI): Holding BJP and Congress responsible for the fall of Arvind Kejriwal government, AAP leader Prashant Bhushan today said the party was left with no option but to quit as implementing Jan Lokpal was their top priority.

"From the beginning, Congress and BJP were against this bill and that is why they didn't support the government. Both party leaders don't want the country to be corruption-free," he told reporters here.

Bhushan maintained that Aam Aadmi Party was not formed to get power, but for making India a corruption-free country.

"AAP has been formed to root out corruption from the country. Passing Jan Lokpal in the Assembly was the first priority of the AAP government. As we were not allowed to pass this bill, we did not have an option but to get out of the government," he said.

Kerjriwal yesterday resigned as Delhi Chief Minister shortly after his government was defeated on the issue of tabling of the Janlokpal Bill in Delhi Assembly in the face of a united resistance by outside supporter Congress and opposition BJP.

After the CM's resignation, the ball is now back in the court of BJP and Congress and both parties can stake claim to form the government in the national capital, Bhushan said.

"If Congress and BJP don't want to stake claim to form the government, LG has no option but to dissolve the Assembly," he said.

Asked if AAP leaders are running away from their responsibilities, he said, "Our government also wanted to implement Mohalla Sabha in Delhi. As Congress and BJP leaders were also against this model, the party cannot run government.

"Getting official posts in the government was not the motive of our party. Our party's motive is to change the system, but we are not being allowed to implement our motive, there is then no benefit to run the government," he said.

Replying to his former ally Kiran Bedi's tweets - "Did Delhi CM resign for Lokpal or Loksabha?", Bhushan said she has become a BJP supporter.

Kejriwal could not even run the smallest state our country for more than couple of months. Now he an ambition to enter central politics. He has betrayed the people of Delhi who have given him a mandate to rule. His resignation has caused a loss of at least 1000 crore rupees to conduct reelection.
Kejrewal just ran away from the problems. First of all he did not have any ability to run the government. Jana Lokpal bill was a lame excuse to escape to from the problems. He is trying to consolidate his political image by hitting BJP and congress with a single stone.
Other than talking against corruption, he did not do anything as a CM.
He had an opportunity to change the image of New Delhi.
Ambani’s issue is nothing to do with state politics.
Kejriwal has crossed his limits by filing FIR against Moily and Ambani.
No politician can wipe out corruption embedded in our system.
If he were to be a good administrator, he should have worked in the existing challenges conditions and shown some progress.
Has he ever addressed burning issues faced by Delhi, which has become largest polluting city in the world? Delhi has the worse Traffic congestion among the metros our country.
Has he ever addressed any issues about health care facilities for the poor general public in Delhi?
Has he ever addressed solving the housing problems faced by the largest slums in old Delhi?
In his resignation speech he wanted to know how Modi gets funding for the rallies. Is is trying to get a clue so that he can make use of it. As a CM of Delhi for 48 days he did everything other than CM’s job. In short Kejriwal is fit to be a street protester than a politician or a minister. He can put up a permanent stage for protest in Ram Leela Maidan start exposing all the politicians every other day. No one takes him seriously these days and it will be a nice fun to watch this comedian.

AAP funda, whoever objects to AAP is either Congress or BJP agent. For them LG is Congress agent. And AAP is holier than Ganga, whoever joins AAP turns Honest de facto.
And theirs Clean Chit to Spamnath Bharti bears more value and significance than Clean Chit to COMMUNAL Modi/Amit Shah.

Your comments, such as Ku**i, don't you think come on the way
    of your professional ethics?
    'Kaamchor' word is reasonable.
But Arvind Kejriwal didn't have enough numbers to rule and honour his election commitments.
He preferred to leave than to stay on by compromising principles!
If you say shouldering responsibilities, then what you have to say for BJP who had maximum numbers?

If Ap gets a full majority, then dont require other parties support to pass the bill in the assembly.

The person who supports J&K division is talking about corruption free INDIA! AAP is basically a 'KAAM CHOR' party where its leader was once a bureaucrat, but did nothing to improve the system than and now talking about CHANGING THE SYSTEM while taking all the innocent college students & fresh voters to ride in the name of Agitation, Dharana, Fasting for each and smallest 'issues'! So called LEADERS of AAP thinks only they are right and they do the only right thing while not even ready to discuss or sit across the table for any meaningful outcome on any issue!
