Jaipur, Feb 6 (IANS): The body of a 14-year-old girl was thrown into a well after she was raped and killed in Rajasthan's Sikar district, police said Thursday.
Circle Officer Dilip Kumar said the girl's body was found in the well Thursday near Patan town in Sikar's Neem Ka Thana area, some 150 km from Jaipur.
The girl, a class nine student, went missing when she was returning from the school. Her bag was spotted near the well following which the search began, the officer said.
The body was found with a stole wrapped around her neck. A heavy stone was tied to her body. Prima facie it seems that the girl was raped also, he said.
The police have rounded up a few suspects and interrogation is on.
