Accused in Manipuri women assault case denied bail


New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS): A court Thursday dismissed the bail application of an accused arrested in connection with assaulting two Manipuri women.

Metropolitan Magistrate Shivani Chauhan dismissed the bail application of accused Prem Chand.

The Delhi Police had arrested Prem Chand Sunday. Four more accused were arrested in the case Monday. All the five accused are in judicial custody.

Police had said the two women from Manipur, in their late 20s, were beaten up by a group of men in Kotla Mubarakpur area of south Delhi on the evening of Jan 24.

The men also passed racist comments against them, police said.
