Panaji, May 20: Akhilesh Sanjay Prabhu Khope, a 15-year-old student of Goa Bal Bhavan, was presented the National Bal Shree Award for the year 2005 by the President, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 15.

Akhilesh Khope was one of the two children selected from 33 talented children from all over India in the stream of creative scientific innovation. His work showed an innovative style, capacity of critical analysis and aptitude to apply logic in all scientific activities.

Akhilesh is studying in class X at People’s High School, Panaji and was awarded the Best Student of the year 2005-2006. He has received a number of prizes in different competitive examinations in science, mathematics, green olympiad, general knowledge, Sanskrit, dramatics, sports, tabla, drawing to mention a few at the school and state level.
