Sunanda Pushkar case transferred to police crime branch


New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS): The mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of union minister Shashi Tharoor, will be investigated by the Delhi Police Crime Branch, a top police official said Thursday.

"The crime branch will investigate the death of Sunanda Pushkar. It was earlier being looked into by Delhi Police," Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Jaiswal told IANS.

Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her room at the Leela Palace hotel here Jan 17.

Crime branch officials will investigate the case from the beginning, including the questioning of hotel staff, family members, friends and Tharoor.
