Alto-Porvorim, May 16: The Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr (TSKK) here conducted a Konknni Basic Course April 24 to May 10 in its premises. This course was specially organized for the Jesuit Scholastics and it was attended by 11 Scholastics.

Stress was laid on speaking in Konknni. Reading Konknni in Roman and Devanagari scripts and grammar was taught during the course. At the end of the course, on May 10, a function was held, whereat a small skit and a variety entertainment programme was performed by the scholastics in Konknni to show their language skills. Sch. Jose Silveira compered the function.

Dr Anthony Da Silva SJ, provincial of Goa Jesuit province, released 'Sod 10', the Konknni Research Bulletin of TSKK. It contains articles in English related to Konknni script issue.

Goa Doordarshan programme executive Cypriano Lopes released Bhakti Sobhann Vol. 3. (Konknni Devotional songs). Dr Pratap Naik SJ of TSKK has penned the lyrics and Eric Ozario has composed the music.

Mandd Sobhann artistes of different denominations (Catholics, Hindus and Muslims) have contributed to the creation of these non-denominational Devotional songs. Sod 10 and Bhakti Sobhann Vol. 3 CD are available at TSKK.
