New judge of Meghalaya High Court sworn-in


Shillong, Jan 7 (IANS): Justice S.R.Sen was Tuesday sworn in as judge of the Meghalaya High Court.

He was administered the oath of office by Chief Justice P.C.Pant in the court premises in presence of senior lawyers and government officials.

Before being elevated as judge of the Meghalaya High Court, Sen had earlier served as the additional judge in the high court from March 23, 2013. He was also additional judge of the Gauhati High Court, when its jurisdiction extended over Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura too.

With Sen taking oath Tuesday, the number of judges in Meghalaya High Court has gone up to three -- including Chief Justice Pant and Justice T. Nandakumar Singh.
