AAP seeks public views on government formation

New Delhi, Dec 17 (IANS): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Tuesday said it will take a final decision on government formation Dec 23, after seeking public opinion in the capital until the weekend.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said it would seek a "yes" or "no" from the people following a split verdict that has given no political party enough seats in the 70-member assembly to take power on its own.

"If the people say 'yes', we will form a government," Kejriwal told the media here.

Kejriwal's comments came amid reports that Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung had recommended President's Rule in Delhi after the BJP, which with 31 seats is the single largest group in the house, declined to form a government.

The AAP, which was then invited to explore the possibility of forming a government, sought time.

Kejriwal then wrote to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP president Rajnath Singh asking if the two parties would support the AAP on 18 key issues.

The Congress responded Monday that 16 of the issues were administrative in nature and needed no party's backing.

On Tuesday, Kejriwal criticised the BJP for not replying to his letter to Rajnath Singh.
"Aam Aadmi Party is not a party of a few individuals," he said "From today till Sunday, we will seek people's views (on government formation)."

"We will go by what people want the coming Monday (Dec 23)," he added.

AK is acting on a will-o'-the-wisp fashion. We do not understand whether he is serious or just using tactics to escape from the responsibility of fulfilling his
promises which are beyond the bounds of possibility

He says BJP has not replied and answers of Congress on 18 issues he raised are evasive. Dear, Mr.Kejriwal, BJP and Congress are cats who have eaten and enjoyed 1000 rats. You think they are going on the pilgrimage now to answer your issues honestly ? No answer or beating around the bush answer was expected.

As far as Lokpal bill is concerned, nobody has helped anybody. No party in India was wanting Lokpal bill. Now, because election is nearing and the threat of Anna, they have passed it. For them it was just chosing between devil and the deep sea.

This is an attempt to put blame on other parties for failure of AAP. They can easily get away from the blame for forming a Govt. with the support of Congress who was their NO.1 Opponents and then put the onus on Delhi Public, if they say form the govt. with the support of Congress. But they comfortably forget that same public will clean them with their own broom!

AAP seeks public views to form the govt!!! Is Kejriwal kidding or bit serious about his work?. People given the mandate and he is the leader of the party now to decide and his decision counts the most!!!.Going for the Public for each and every work I feel it is showing bit negative leadership quality and asking the public for each and every work!!! I believe he is fooling the public or he is bit smart for the next election in mind and it's counting!!!!.

    Mr Krishnaraja Salian,
Ok as you say, can you tell me why should AAP support BJP When BJP has critized AAP in all angles. You want to criticize and get vote and then want the support from same party?
In Delhi you say AAP won because of Anti Congress wave.
And in other location you say AAP won because of Pro Modi Wave.
In that logic Kejriwal can defeat your Modi in Gujarat right?

DearMr. Hiding Man, What is your problem in understanding the politics i cant understand... Read wht you write first.. " In Delhi you say AAP won because of Anti Congress wave.
And in other location you say AAP won because of Pro Modi Wave."
Now apart from Delhi, in which other location you found AAP won the election ??? Do you have any problem in understanding the politics..
For your, info, in gujrath, There is no Anti congress wave, there is Pro Bjp wave, Anti congress wave seen in across the country, which is already highlighted in 4 states...
Ok, lets talk abt criticizing, Congress criticised AAP, BJP... AAP criticized BJP, CONGRESS and BJP criticized AAP, Congress... This is part n parcel of all the political parties during the election, so in this way if AAP is very particular they just should not attempt of forming govt at all.. just be like Dr. Harshavardhan, from the day one after the result he spoke in just one tongue we dont have numbders n we cannot form the govt... not like AAP changing colors every time.... They want BJP to accept their 18 demands which is more of administrative like electricity, power and housing, Did AAP ask BJP while making these fake promises.. if AAP wants BJP to accept it why they fought election separately ??? Now they play gimmick of seeking public vote to form govt.. DID they ask public when they decided to form the PARTY ??? why double standard.... Speak one language always.. SAY NO to form the Govt.. or allow BJP to form govt, since they got more seats...

Isn't it ethical ?? Is not true that party won more seats deserve to form the govt...

Why should congress support BJP to form govt? the same BJP that criticizes congress day in and out, and sometime speaks rot..would you want to support someone who criticizes you!!

AAP is just 4 seat lesser than the BJP. So they too deserve a chance to form govt.

Colloborating with congress you call AAP as congress agent.
If the same congress colloborates with BJP would you cal the BJP as congress agent?

Dear Mr. HIDING MAN, First read read and read the comments I made, Where u find i asked Congress to support to BJP ??? are you blind.... The only people who voted to AAP is the one who angered by congress rule in delhi for the last 15 years and also in center for the last 10 years... just coz they had option they voted for AAP, which means 88% of the voters hated Congress, and AAP is betraying all of them in joining hands with them again.. it is just like Congress ruling from backdoor once again..
In my opinions delhi voted 2 parties.. ofcourse both deserve to form the govt. but definately not with congress ... Read the comments, Understand, then reply...

Truth First is writing full of lies. His statement - "AAP is just 4 seat lesser than the BJP. So they too deserve a chance to form govt", could not control my laugh. One day you may say INC got just 24 seats less than BJP and still they can form the govt. Come -on man....as per constitution the biggest party would be called first to form the govt. Here AAP was formed against INC and BJP AAP should not form govt. Similarly BJP has one point agenda to dislodge INC they both cannot join. Now if AAP joins hands with INC then AK can be named as chacha Nehru in new avatar.

I do not understand why AAP is doing so much of drama.. Are they not able to take one strong decision for the welfare of people.

If they are not interested in forming government then they can simply say NO instead of dragging the matter & writting letters to other parties n creating all these hungamas.

If they care for people then they should atleast allow BJP to form the government and give support to them as majority have voted for BJP.

Congress is rejected by the people of Delhi. How could he ever think of taking their support.

The People of Delhi have already given a mandate which says 34.7% Prefer BJP as the First Choice and about 30 % say AAP as the First Choice and about 20 % who say Congress is the First Choice .Naturally Congress AAP is more than BJP and hence they can form the Govt what else he wants to ask ?Go ahead form the Govt and if Congress Backtracks after giving support they will go to Zero from Present 8 seats and if they support you with good heart their Number will rise .But overall please note If you had chose BJP then the Peoples Mandate would have been 34 30 that is more than 64% peoples Choice and how can you ask their reply when you are forming the Govt even though they are the single Largest party ?

At present AAP must not form the government. It has no majority and therefore, wait for a re-election and then with full majority form the government on its own. Give a second CHANCE to parties to prove their metal. It is the people of Dilli who are the king makers here. Let them decide by which party they want to be ruled. If there is clear cut mandate to a party, it is the best thing for that party, with full majority to govern Delhi. Jai Bharat!!!!!!!

to 18 points raised by them to Govt formation?
In this regard I appreciate Congress, they replied to AAP, though they didn't assure support in all points! They made their stand clear!
But BJP failed to respond! Irresponsible!
Regarding Govt. formation, AAP should go ahead.
