Mumbai, Dec 12: Actress Priyanka Chopra having performed songs of many brilliant dancers of Bollywood, such as Rekha, Tabu, Aishwarya Rai, Urmila Matonkar and others seems to this time taken to donning the mantle of a Cabaret Dancer named Nandita for her upcoming movie  "Gunday". Priyanka Chopra had recently snagged a lot of attention with her item number 'Ram Chahe Leela' in the movie 'Goliyon ki Rasleela  Ram - Leela' and seems to have become an overnight hit for dance numbers in movies.

In her upcoming movie, she dolls up in a gold sequined nude hued dress to dance to the steps that till now had been synonymous with the famous and unparalleled Helen. Starring alongside Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in a story revolving around two lovable rogues in 1971 Bangladesh, Priyanka showcases the cabaret dancing in its initial persona. Her look and carriage seem to be inspired by Helen and it is reported that she will be performing steps that replicate Helen's performance in her yesteryear movies. Director Ali Abbas Zafar seems to have striven quiet diligently to recreate Bangladesh in its fledgling stages as it was only being formed, way back then. Apparently the slightest of details have been thoroughly scrutinised.

Having previously danced to item number such as 'Babli Badmaas', 'Pinky' and others it was only with 'Ram chahe Leela' that Priyanka became a strong contender as an item number girl. She was missed in the initial trailers of the movie 'Gunday' and seems to have once again grabbed eye-balls despite a late but much awaited entrance in the trailers of the movie. As part of the promotions the star cast are expected to be attending an event scheduled for tomorrow at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).

The film is set to release on Valentine's Day, 2014.
