Krrish 3 - founder of the Rs 500 cr club?

Mumbai, Dec 3: Film maker Rakesh Roshan, projected the earnings of his recent movie, starring his son in a popular sci-fi role of Krrish, to be 500 crore rupees. While many critics have rubbished the quoted numbers, if it be true, it will leave top rated movies such as 3 Idiots, Chennai Express and Dabangg eating dust in the wake of its success.

The other movies that grossed really high collections in the past year were all from the Khan clan of Bollywood and it seems that the Roshan line has indeed set the bar way too high for the senior actors who are credited with ruling the roost in the Hindi movie industry.

It remains to be seen if Aamir Khan is able to make sure the ball is securely back in the Khan court with his much awaited and highly talked about movie Dhoom 3. Krrish 3 was also the third in its sequence of stories beginning with Koi Mil Gaya and followed by Krrish.

Since the movie is still running to packed theatres in many parts of the country, the projected figures could be the total of its collections during its present sting with the silver screen, however long that lasts.

Krrish 3 began with Rs 25.50 crore collections on its very first day and went on to make Rs. 72 crore within its first weekend coming around to the rounded off total of Rs. 245 crores very soon. Given these statics, the fiscal projections by the Roshan's don't seem to be far off the mark.
